AUGUST FAVOURITES ~ I DON'T SHAVE FOR SHERLOCK HOLMES

Hello my friends!

It is the 31st of August and that means it is time to bundle up all my favourtie things in August. There are some beauty items, but also random things.

This lipstick is part of Kiko's "Crystal Sheer" range (Number: 403).  It is a beautiful "my lips but better" nude colour. It applies really easily and can actually be done without a mirror handy, just like you would with a lipbalm. This makes it the perfect everyday lipstick for me, something I have been searching for for quite a while because all my other lipsticks are red. I also like that the colour is really wearable in all seasons so I can actually wear it all year round.
Because it is so creamy in texture it will not last a really long time, but it is so easy to reapply that I don't really care about that. ;)

This blush by Kiko (Number 111) is very creamy and matte as well, even though it is a powder blush. The pigmentation is great as well! Although the colour may be more for the colder months I'm sure you can find a way to rock in spring and summer as well. The only downside of this product is this mirror, which, for me, is just to small to really help apply makeup.

This was the first time I really ever was in a Kiko store and I was really blown away by all the amazing products. I could have bought so much more, but due to moving I was on a bit of a budget.Especially the blushes and eyeshadows were really pretty and I'm sure as hell going to pick up some more of these. The prices are quite reasonable and affordable as well: The blush was 7,50€ and the lipstick 6,90€.

I bought this Nyx eyeshadow a couple of weeks ago at Douglas. This one (Yogurt) is a lovely champagne sort of colour, but depending on the angle and on the light it has some pretty pink undertones. This was my staple everyday look this summer, because it is so easy and qucik to apply. And even though has a shimmer to it, it looks really natural and pretty with my brown eyes. With a primer they last a long time and it blends nicely, too. Plus, they are really affordable and I'm definatly looking into buying some other colour too.

In the picture above I tried to swach the colours for you. On the left is the blush, in the middle is the lipstick and on the right and below is the eyeshadow. Unfortunatly I could not really capture the colour of the eyeshadow (major beauty blogger fail), but it is pretty similar. Just imagine a bit of pink in there :D

Oh yeah, and THAT is what happens if you try to make a swach of the lipstick complety out. YOU BREAK IT IN HALF! I really shouldn't try to be a beauty blogger, hehe.

My favourite shampoo at the moment costs juster under 2€! It is the "Oil Repaor Shampoo" by Balea. It is without silicones and it just makes my hair feel super nice and it's fluffy (... I'm gonna die!) after using it. I have tried other Balea shampoos, but I did not really like those.

I wash my hair about twice a week, so this lasts me a really long time.

On to the random shit: I have been loving two TV-shows lately and I can't believe I have not watched them yet, because I'm such a sucker fpr TV-shows. I always get really obsessed and can't think about anything else but the show and my new OTP for a couple of week.

I am talking about SHERLOCK and AMERICAN HORROR STORY.

I actually finished the last season of SHERLOCK in the beginning on the month. I saved season 3 until then, because I had a 9 hour long bus journey ahead of me. As Sherlock episodes are so long they were perfect to keep me occupied. I actually sat there (all by myself) giggling and squealing at all the Johnlock moments ... thinking about it, that was probably the reason I had two seats to myself the entire time. (And I have perfected the art of coughing and looking really mean whenever new people board the bus ... I'm an aweful human being, right? Tell me if any of you do that too!)

I only started to watch AMERICAN HORROR STORY last week. The first two episodes really freaked my out, because I'm really sensitive when it comes to Horror movies/TV-shows. I just have such an active imagination that I absolutly can't be alone after watching something like that ... I actually cried after the second episode because my boyfriend was making jokes about scare-pranking me and I was so afraid that I cried #sobananas

We just started season 3, which looks really good. I liked Asylum too, but the first season was just my favourite ... I'm just a sucker for the Tate/Violet storyline. And now whenever I'm scared I just think of Tate ...

Well, this was a long post, wasn't it? Tell me if you have any experience with Nyx or Kiko makeup or if you share my obsession with TV-Shows or really attractive psychopaths. And of course if you want to read more about my favourite TV-shows. Or more reasons why I'm totally bonkers.

Love you guys lots! <3

LAST DAYS OF SUMMER

Hasn't this been a good start to blogging? Writing about 3 Posts and then just disappearing for nearly a month? Well done, Jess, well done. *imagine me slow clapping here*

I am sorry guys. The last weeks have just been crazy and I don't have enough blogging experience yet to just deal with this. The real life has been creeping up on me lately:  Exams, work, moving and a wedding hundreds so kilometers away.

This is not the really cool blogpost I was planning to write. My friend Mira Lazybone (do check her out please, she is super-amazing) wrote a great blog post about not wanting to be perfect on her blog. Because she isn't. Because no one is. And acting like we are will make no one happy.
Trying to be perfect would kill this blog. I won't always be able to write a totally awesome text that will blow your mind away. I won't always be able to take a nicely composed picture in which I look like Kate Moss.
I still have a lot of stuff to do for uni and work, but hopefully I will be back on track with blogging soon.
The weather here has been quite shitty lately. A couple of days ago I went to Primark to buy fuzzy and cosy socks because it was so cold.
How are you enjoying the last days of summer? On saturday my boyfriend and I will have a nice day-trip to Straßbourgh (remember my "25 things to do this summer"?). Look forward for some nice pictures and a haul :)
Don't forget to be awesome, lovelies!
Jess

And, in my opinion, that's okay. This blog is supposed to be about my life and if my life consists of working and studying and not doing my makeup, not washing my hair and just leaving on my PJs all day that's what I will write about.

But last monday was a wonderful day. The sun came out again and I had a lovely day with my sister eating loads and drinking coffee in the park. Hopefully we will get a couple more sunny days this summer ... but I am already getting into the autumn spirit as well. :)
